TLDR: The government, specifically NOAA, has been haphazardly tracking chemtrails for half a century. Their database is broken and full of errors. I compiled all the records I could find and made Chemtrail Monitor, a new site you can use to track 1,680 official chemtrail reports. Lookout Map also has a new free layer where you can see all the data and where exactly they’ve been spraying.
It turns out the U.S. government has a system for tracking chemtrails, including for weather modification purposes, solar geo-engineering, the military’s bacteria tests, and whatever else the psychopaths involved decided to spray over Americans in any given year. By law,
“Anyone conducting weather modification operations in the U.S. is required to notify and update the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is in turn required to maintain a record of the activities and share it with the public.”
NOAA does in fact have a publicly searchable database.
But there are a few problems with it.
The search is pretty broken, it’s very hard to actually find records.
It only starts in 1999, even though they’ve had a duty to keep reports since 1971. Where are the 28 years of missing records? They admit that “some reports submitted prior to use of digital records may have been lost.” The rest they simply didn’t bother digitizing.
The reports are often mixed up or incomplete, and are missing basic data.
The Government Accountability Office’s 2026 report has found that:
“the agency is not fully meeting its responsibilities to maintain and share weather modification reports. Weather modification operators may report inconsistent information or fail to report, and we estimate that over half of all the reports filed with NOAA likely have errors, including missing required information (e.g., maps). NOAA does not have written agency guidance for reviewing reports or maintaining its database.”
Is this standard government incompetence, or is this incompetence on purpose?
In other words, are the folks involved in tracking spraying of chemicals over Americans deliberately allowing reports with missing data, filing them incorrectly, etc.?
Who knows - both incompetence and malice are plausible.
The other interesting thing is GAO’s admission that many corporations and government departments conducting spraying might simply be failing to report their activities.
Since the data is hard to search, full of errors, and strewn around thousands of PDFs and archived documents, I decided to take it upon myself to sift through this data, as well as public records published at the state level, various national archives, and whatever other reliable data sources I could find.
That includes illegal human experimentation programs, like when in 1950 the U.S. Navy conducted Operation Seaspray and sprayed bacteria over the San Francisco Bay Area, sickening a dozen people and killing one of them.
Or when between 1962 - 1973 the U.S. military conducted Project 112, in which they sprayed biological agents around bus terminals, airports, and the NYC Subway as part of illegal, secretive tests.
I’ve compiled 1,680 records and put it all on Lookout Map, for free.
I’ve also created a dedicated website, Chemtrail Monitor, that makes all of these records consolidated in one place, and properly searchable.
I’d love for this project to become a community effort. Since the government admits they are missing reports and the people spraying often don’t even file them, any reputable sources would be great to add to the map.
I see chemtrails all the time and I know my area has no reports shown for it. So I know this map is incomplete, but it’s a start. Both towards researching where and why this is happening, and towards raising awareness among skeptics who think this isn’t real.

Ideally I’d need actual reports of what’s being sprayed, by whom, etc.
