I waffle back and forth on this essay. There have been periods of time that I've felt this way and times I feel the exact opposite.. I feel like as I watch my kids live and make things enjoyable, they're making life happen in a great way. Then I watch others and I did read it years ago, they work, pay the bills, groceries and a little free time and a little extra money. Just enough of the last two that they think their free. Nobody has to beat them to produce the labor... I see both sides but appears the later is becoming more of the norm....
I also enjoy many parts of my life, and I enjoy my kids. We live on rural land, my kids can run around and play in the dirt. We homeschool, so they get to explore what they’re curious about instead of being forced to sit under fluorescent lights like pigs in a pen.
At the same time, I’m a slave on a human farm and the government steals 2/3rds of my income.
We shouldn’t stop enjoying our lives and making the best of our time here, but neither should we be oblivious to our reality. If we can wake enough people up, maybe, just maybe, our children and grandchildren can be free.

Both can be true at the same time.
